The Nutcracker and Sugarplum Fairy Tea - December 12-14 2014 - USM

The Nutcracker

December 20-21 2014 - PRCC

Join us for SMBT’s 5th annual production of The Nutcracker. A Holiday classic that is a favorite of children and adults alike, The Nutcracker takes you on a journey with a little girl, Clara, and her magical Christmas gift. The 2014 production will feature a beautiful new backdrop as well as new choreography that will keep audiences delighted.

SMBT’s seasonal favorite, The Sugarplum Fairy Tea has become a holiday tradition in South Mississippi. Surprises and treats await each guest at every turn!  A special appearance of The Sugarplum Fairy and Clara make great family photos, and they will present each young future dancer with a special gift to take home

Tutus and Treats - February 22, 2015

Each year, select students from SMBT's pre-professional company compete in the Youth America Grand Prix, the largest classical ballet competition for students in the world. These students work very hard preparing classical variations and group pieces from the ballet repertoire. Each year, before the competition, SMBT hosts Tutus and Treats, a dessert theatre that serves as a fundraiser to offset some of the costs the dancers and their families incur. It is a fun time with lots of yummy treats, a silent auction, and entertainment from very talented students. For more information on YAGP, visit their website at www.yagp.org.

The Sleeping Beauty - May 30-31 USM

Starring dancers from Russian’s Bolshoi Ballet, The Sleeping Beauty is a crown jewel of the ballet reparatory.  The familiar story of Princess Aurora, her handsome prince, and the Fairies that save her life shine beautifully on stage. Tchaikovsky’s famous score accompanies the timeless choreography in a wonderful culmination of SMBT’s 5th anniversary season.
